Website: A W.I.P
For tomorrow, please dress up a little bit so that it looks like a "business presentation". Ie: I am wearing a blazer with jeans. Please do not wear a hoodie or something. Let's all look nice and uniform and professional.
:)
Sorry if I'm being really task-masterish. I just really want to get this thing over with.
PS: We're presenting first. So be prepared to go and be on time to class.
:)
Hello peoples
Also, if you CAN'T open the actual powerpoint (because I'm on a Mac and there might be Mac/PC errors or some crapola) I'll also send along a PDF of the slide show with the notes. Which sucks because you can't see all the perdy animation and effects I've added.
For any changes that need to be made, please post a message on the Blog or email me at laura.nicole@mac.com (emailing me might be better because my email app makes an annoying sound when I get an email so I'm likely to read it faster if you email me). But I won't be home from 6pm - 11:30pm cuz I'll be at work.
Don't send me changes at 1am or something rediculous because I will not see it and your "changes" will NOT be changed.
So deadline for "changes" is midnight I refuse to stay up really later to finish this project. Mostly because I hate this class.
OK. I'm starving. Going to go eat some lunch now I think.
I know y'all just NEEDED to know that last bit. It was so very vital.
Hi VJ

Si.Amplify features multiple virtual keyboards; appear at your command, (numerical/alphabatical) which are perfect for browsing the web in Firefox-Si, searching for videos on YouTube, finding music on the Sound ideas Music Library or any Wi-Fi Music Store.
Sensitive Accelerometer
An accelerometer that has been built in the Si.Amplify detects when you rotate the player from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display, so you immediately see the entire width of a web page, your music and videos in Media Rush, or a photo in its proper aspect ratio.
Wi-Fi web browsing.
Browse the web with Firefox-Si and watch YouTube videos on the first ever Wi-Fi MP3, the Si.Amplify
Ambient Light Sensor
The Si.Amplify display has an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness to suit the ambient light in your surroundings. Resulting in a better experience for you and battery-saving efficiency for Si.Amplify.

To Jesse
The concept art is in the OLDER POSTS, I do not think that the new sketches will be any different than they were before, other than a few colour schemes. So I would say that you can begin modeling the MP3 player whenever you wish.

Too VJ -
Details coming Soon
I will be posting the sketches soon. Haven't had enough time to finish up on the sketches because of the.....you know what, Skate, Toy project, EAC150's dang Final assignment. Anywho, I will get on that; the sketching (colour tests etc) some more for the MP3 as soon as possible.
- the design will remain as it is now. (maybe I'll change the button placement if necessary)
- colour? yes the MP3 deserves to be "chrome"
- it would be very nice to have a reflection for the mp3 as well as the logo-as Laura mentioned. (as I said I will be posting the sketches on tuesday or earlier, in order for Jesse to be able to model the MP3)

Website reply ... so Amanda doesn't go crazy
For the website, maybe something simple. Black, streamlined. Similar to Apple's iPod page only black instead of white.
Yes? Maybe a nice reflection on the logo.
Comments?
Website cont'd
- Colour scheme of the MPS player itself (the main one we'll market)
- logo/name for the player (not "sound ideas")
- distinguishing feature
- distinguishing design elements/marks

List of Tasks ... Too Bad For You - Stop Complaining
Jesse - 3D Modeling - make a video of it turning around and send it to Amanda so she can do the Flash interactive scope for it (ask her - not me - if you're confused because I have no idea how to use Flash)
Vijayant - Design the device - send this to Jesse; also, please write REASONS as to WHY someone should pick our product over Apple's, Sony's etc. Please see #7 of the discussion called "Final Project for DMA 188" on the Facebook group "DMA Ninja Marines of Seneca".
Mike - Research and Development, Interactivity Matrix > Research other MP3 players (LIST YOUR SOURCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and see what works, what does not. This should have already been done when we were coming up with ideas for the features of the device. Please write the "Function" column of the matrix (detailed) and send it to ME - laura.nicole@mac.com
Andrew - Research and Development, Interactivity Matrix > Research other MP3 players (LIST YOUR SOURCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and see what works, what does not. This should have already been done when we were coming up with ideas for the features of the device. Please write the "Benefit" part of the matrix (detailed) and send it to ME - laura.nicole@mac.com
Laura - Site Map, Interactivity Matrix - I'll be doing the site map and sending it to Amanda. I will also be doing some R&D then writing the "Feature" section of the Matrix as well as all that crap in between (interface, driver, tactile, audio, visual, etc). Yes, lucky me.
Please comment on this post to say that you have read it. If you do not ... I may have to hurt you.

I think if we go any further than that (ie: installing Window's Vista [ps: Vista? Really? EWWW!]) we'd be a pocket PC which is essentially a palm pilot but more sophisticated.

Feature: "Editing File Tags...On The Device"
And the product names are awesome! I think the "Si" might be better than "SI" because it harks back (tee hee. good phrase there) to the logo which has a small "i" and not a capital one.
Really, really awesome.
I also really like the concept art you did, Vijayant. But I think the screen might be a little too busy for a touch screen. You have to be able to press the screen with your finger to select a menu. But otherwise, I really like the shape of it and everything else.
I was thinking ... maybe it could have a dual headphone jack. Someone I know has an MP3 player with 2 head phone jacks and it's pretty awesome/convenient.

Possible Product Names:
Mp3 Concept A
I have a heck load of ideas but I still require a detailed list of the feats. for our MP3. So, I suggest that we begin to brainstorm and come up with a new list of features for the our product.
Page Edits
- Solar power panels - stores up power to use when the battery runs out and allows the MP3 player to run for a bit more time
- Different modes for radio and stored media - When the tuning button is turned left it activates AM radio stations and when turned right it activates FM radio stations
- And 'Edit' switch - so that the internal folders cannot be accidentally accessed when skimming through music

Discussion Overview:
- Company name
- Company identity (logo, colors, etc)
- Product name
- Product features and benefits
The name that we came up with was "Sound Ideas". This came out of a list of various words regarding sound such as: sonic, wave, listening, boom, volume, blast. We also liked the words pure, organic and technology. We chose the name "Sound Ideas" because it has a double meaning: "Sound Ideas" can refer to the MP3 players that we create but it can also refer to a good idea.
Company Identity
Our logo, which we are still working on, is based on a light bulb - representing the word "ideas" - and sound waves. So far we have a working image of a light bulb as a speaker with sound waves coming out of it. Colors and schemes that we liked included black, silver, pewters and other metallic themes.
Product Name
We have yet to come up with a name for our product as we decided to do research on other MP3 players as well as design ours first before we pick a name. We decided to pick something with very little syllables, catchy and descriptive of the product (ie: the size of the the MP3 player).
Product Features and Benefits
Features that we would like to include are: different skins that you can change in one touch, a touch screen, audio, video, camera and USB/BlueTooth connectivity.
